14th February 2020: We may have been forced to leave the European Union a few weeks ago, but many of us will continue to regret that and hope that one day we’ll come together again. Over the past 25+ years, I compiled a series of 70+ free albums for the readers of fRoots magazine (RIP) to showcase the best new roots music out there. Hundreds of great tracks from around mainland Europe were included amongst all the other music from here and the rest of the planet, and from them I’ve made a continent and decades-spanning selection of favourites – 57 tracks from 24 countries, 4 hours of amazing music split into two parts. They’re among the reasons to still feel part of Europe and hold it in our hearts. Love thy neighbours! Love their music!
